Facebook is different because people can update lots of stuff, they have he check-ins, they can share the stuff they like.
'Technology changes really fast, but people change kind of slowly.' People want to interact very much with others, and socializing is the starting point and facebook is based on socializing.
Facebook is also full of advertisings using a lot of ads and the 'likes'.
